
The Saint James Parish Family is made up of many organizations serving the
spiritual and social needs of the parish community. The Parish Pastoral Council
and the Parish Finance Council steward and support the Parish Mission Statement.
Other parish organizations are organized under various commissions.
- The largest fundraising activities at
St. James Parish. The only requirement is working once every four weeks. No

- Giving blood is one of the best
ways to help people in the neighborhood. By volunteering for the quarterly
blood drive you can help save lives. Give a little bit of time and help save

- The Boy Scouts of America are one

- Are you a closet singer? Let other people
hear you sing. St. James’ parish is always on the lookout for people
who would like to sing in the choir at any of our masses. From traditional
songs to more contemporary music, St. James’ choir provides a wealth
of opportunities for those who would like to share their talent. No experience

- The Communications
Group Commission aims to deliver information, news and updates on the various
activities taking place at St. James parish. The group, meeting once a month,
includes developing the parish web site, news in the bulletins and on the

- St. James Parish is involved
in a region wide interfaith meals program that helps feed people in the surrounding
area. By working this program, one day a month, you can help better the lives

- For the younger boys, from
ages 1-first half of fifth grade. Cub Scouts is involved in family based activities.
A lot of one-on-one activities with children and parents. in the entry into
developing skills that will help them grow in a positive environment. Learning
basic outdoor skills are only one way in which Cub Scouts can develop. Contact:

- If you marvel at how nice
St. James Church looks during the holiday season you can thank the Decorating
Committee for their work in making the church look so impressive. And, if
you feel you would like to contribute your time toward helping make the church
look colorful during the different liturgical seasons perhaps you would like
to join the Decorating Committee. This group is involved in ensuring that
all Church is properly decorated during special liturgical seasons, including

- A group of people over the
age of 50 who gather together for social and spiritual work. The group is
designed to give people the chance to meet together with friends, as offering
assistance to the parish in a volunteer capacity. The group meets the second

- A group of parishioners
who volunteer their time and talent to help the Pastor guide the parish through
both spiritual and day to day operations. Members of the Parish Pastoral Council
work in a variety of responsibilities through a three-year tenure. The most
recent Parish Council is deeply involved in all aspects of developing and

- The Spiritual Life & Liturgy
Commission helps to foster the spiritual growth of the St. James Parish family
by enabling our Christian community to grow in their relationship with God
and with one another.
To do this, we offer a variety of programs that deepen knowledge of our faith
and nurture our spiritual life. We offer differing programs such as bible
study, parish family Mass and potluck, prayer groups , among others. Contact:

- You may notice this
group by the truck that is parked at St. James parking lot three to four times
every year. The St. Vincent DePaul Society runs the collection program to
collect clothes, household goods and small appliances that are distributed
to the needy in the community. The group meets the second Tuesday of every
month at 7:30 pm in the basement of St. James (Andrews Hall). Contact: Fran

- This group is made up of lectors,
commentators, Eucharistic ministers and servers. This group of dedicated parishioners
assist in the running of the masses. Training is conducted periodically. However,
a special need is for lectors and adult servers who can work at funerals.
